The Grout Medic announces fundraising drive in October for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS—For the third consecutive year, The Grout Medic of West/Southwest Chicagoland is leading a national campaign to raise both awareness and funding for breast cancer research.  Ron Bandyk, owner of The Grout Medic of West/Southwest Chicagoland, helped lead the inaugural effort in 2013 and The Grout Medic has raised over $4,800 for breast cancer research over the last two years.  When asked about this year’s effort, Bandyk said “We’re happy that in this, our third year, we have the largest group participating yet.  More participation will provide more opportunities to bring awareness to this issue while allowing us to raise even more money for this worthwhile cause”.

For the month of October, Bandyk and his Grout Medic collogues around the country will be wearing special pink shirts to further highlight their efforts and aid in raising awareness.  ” Over the past several years, efforts to raise awareness have been gaining steam and statistics show that survival rates are improving.   Almost everyone knows of a family member, friend, or coworker who has been touched by this disease.  These improvements are believed to be the result of earlier detection through screening and increased awareness, as well as improved treatment resulting from additional research.  We are happy to, in some small way, further this effort.”

For every job booked in October, participating Grout Medic franchises will contribute $5 or more to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF). BCRF is the highest rated breast cancer organization in the country.  It has earned an “A+” rating from Charity Watch and is the only breast cancer organization to receive this accolade.  BCRF also has been recognized by Charity Navigator with its highest rating of 4 stars 13 times since 2002. Currently, $0.91 of every dollar spent by BCRF is directed toward breast cancer research and awareness programs.
