The older we get, the bigger our risk of being injured in a fall. And that risk becomes even greater when winter arrives.
Cold weather, ice and snow can turn a few simple steps into an obstacle course and a driveway into a skating rink. For those of us in the Midwest, there’s no stopping winter. But there are things we can do to help keep ourselves and our loved ones avoid a potentially life-changing fall.

IMPORTANT HEALTH INDIVIDUAL INSURANCE DEADLINE NOTICE: Anyone wanting/needing health insurance or anyone wanting to change to a new/different policy for 1-1-15 must apply by 12-15-14. Any application dated 12-16-14 to 1-15-15 will be effective for 2-1-15. Any application dated 1-16-15 to 2-15-15 will be effective 3-1-15. After 2-15-15, you must have a qualifying event to apply for coverage or you will only have temporary insurance available and may be subject to the “fine” of $325 per person and $162.50 per child per year or 2% of your income (whichever is greater) for calendar year 2015.
