In the event you get that letter fro the IDES and then the debit card here is a list of what to do:
1. reassure your HR dept that you did NOT seek unemployment insurance If you are an IDShield member please call them 1-888-484-8519 2. call IDES at 1-800-814-0513 -select English, option 1 for claimants, option 5 to report identity theft DO NOT activate the debit card DO NOT contact Keybank request your free credit reports at annualcreditreport.com and review for any fraudulent activity 3. File a police report (they will give you a case number - save it) this is not mandatory but might be a good idea 4. It has also been suggested that you notify the IRS of this matter- don't think this is necessary but do it if it will make you feel more comfortable. I spoke with an IDS investigator and he told me that 90% of these claims do NOT go through. He told me that these are generally happening due to information obtained thru a data breach such as Equifax but rest easy Thank you, stay healthy, safe and happy and have some Fun!
